Yes You Can

One of the things that drive me crazy is when I see or hear someone being interviewed about a recent accomplishment and the “Oh, I cannot believe it” or “Oh, I am as surprised as anyone that I have accomplished this” comes out.

In some cases, people are just trying to be humble, that part I understand. But in most, these people are genuinely surprised that they have accomplished something that they have dedicated the past ??? years towards achieving.

Maybe it is just me, but I cannot get my head around this. They cannot believe they have accomplished something that they have worked hard towards accomplishing? How does that work?

However, in writing this, I have reminded myself of something that I say quite often, and that is that I have never seen anyone that understands what they are truly capable of.

I know this is a comprehensive statement and yes I have had the opportunity to see some of the great achievers of the world first hand, but the comment holds in most, if not all situations.

I suppose this is why I get frustrated with the “Oh, and I cannot believe what I have done” routine. I am just a believer in human potential. You are capable of extraordinary accomplishments and not always through skill, opportunity or knowledge.

But more often, out of desire or necessity.

So what does it take to get this idea of nothing into something?

Now, the exciting thing is that these requirements, whether they be skill or knowledge-based, whether it is experience or insight, will be available to you in some way. More often than not, you will already possess a lot of these requirements but have never had the need to use them, and therefore you have probably never realised that you own them.

So don’t let the possibility of changing nothing into something be halted because you do not believe you have what it will take to see the change unfold and eventuate. Remember that you do not need to have everything necessary to get the job completed in place before you even start the journey of transformation.

As no doubt, you have witnessed first hand either in yourself or in others; the ability to accept change is almost determined by attitude more than anything else. Once the position of taking or creating change has been decided, the rest becomes relatively easy. But if there is an attitude not to accept change, then it is almost impossible for that change to become a reality.

Make sure that for all the right reasons and in all the right ways you are ensuring…

The Journey Continues.
