When things start heading south and you feel that the world is working against you. When stress, negativity and loss of control seem to be the most common aspects of life. What are some simple things you can do to help get you back to where you need to be?

a. Change your environment
Basically get out, leave, walk away. But here is the thing: Don’t take your thinking, your negativity or your pessimism with you to where it is you go next. Use this new environment for relaxation reflection and reenergising.

b. Do things that make you feel different about yourself, how you think and how you perceive the world

  • Read a book
  • Listen to your favourite music
  • Phone a friend
  • Do some exercise
  • Go for a drive

c. Seek out new ideas, approach, thinking and strategies

d. Go get yourself an outfit/clothes that will change how you feel about yourself

e. Eat something healthy, enjoyable and nutritious
Don’t eat comfort food. You will only feel worse because you did.Actually take the time to cook yourself a nutritious meal.

f. Hangout with people that will renew your energy, focus and commitment and not suck the life blood out of you.

g. Clarity and understanding
Realise that you are not avoiding the issues but just getting yourself in a better place to be able to deal with them.

h. Don’t lose sight of your primary purpose

i. Make sure everything around you is in order

  • Desk
  • Finances
  • House
  • To do list
  • Appointments

j. Deal with inner emotions, hide outer ones

k. Perspective

Know that in a month or so this will not look like such a big deal
Take time to understand how you got here in the first place
But at the same time understand how far you have come with things

i. Drink more water and less alcohol

j. Look for opportunities to be inspired

They are everywhere if you choose to look.

k. Go back to the things that have worked for you in the past

l. Deal with distractions, either now or have a plan in place to deal with them later

m. Don’t mistake activity for achievement but understand the role of process towards an outcome

n. Find reason to laugh. Do often and do it loud

p. Go back and revisit your values and the elements that go into forming your character

q. Have purpose in everything you do

Do what you can, when you can, so that in a positive way…
