11. You go out of your way to understand what is important and why to the people you lead

12. You never talk about those you lead to others that you lead

13. You tell it the way it is

14. You never play one person off against the other

15. You show respect to others and the role they play

16. You take responsibility when things don’t work out but give accolades to others when it does

17. You never act or behave like you know it all, or you are smarter than anyone else

18. You are positively proactive rather than negatively reactive

19. You always represent other ideas for their benefit rather than yours

20. You always, where possible, give advanced notice of decisions that impact others

21. You always have easy to understand the rationale behind the decisions you make

22. You will stand by those you lead whenever and wherever

23. You expect a lot from the people you lead but more from yourself

24. You are flexible in your approach, but you never compromise standards

25. You show respect to others by consistently being on time

26. You are always looking for ways to help those that you lead, but you never do things for them that they should do for themselves
